WALKERTON -- Carolyn Cooke's skin is the clearest and most radiant it has
been in three years. Discoloured, blotchy and acne-prone skin is a thing
of the past for her upon discovering a new skin treatment.
In her mid 50s, the Walkerton resident needed a miracle to rid herself of
an embarrassing skin condition known as rosacea, and recently found relief
with the Face Doctor skin care line recommended by a local pharmacy. "I used to have red patches on my face . . . I don't have them anymore,"
said Cooke.
Face Doctor is a line of skin cleansing products that was developed in
China after 30 years of research. Face Doctor products include complexion
soap, medicated surgeon's soap, beauty cream and shampoo.
Cooke discovered these products at Pellow's Pharmacy in Walkerton while
explaining her skin problem to the pharmacists there.
"Going through Pellow's Pharmacy . . . I was talking to them (pharmacists)
about my face and they said to try this," Cooke explained.
Along with patchy red skin, Cooke also suffered from acne and very
sensitive skin. She couldn't use any perfumes or scented creams. She
purchased the Face Doctor beauty cream and complexion soap as a last
resort after many efforts to fix her skin.
Although the soap alone cost
$20, it was well worth every penny, Cooke said. "I tried everything . . . real expensive stuff on my face, and different
creams," said Cooke. "To me, it's cheap, because all the other products
were more expensive."
Cooke used the cream and soap twice daily, and has since found she only
needs the soap, and the redness and acne have subsided.
All Face Doctor products are specially formulated with natural
seabuckthorn oil as the main ingredient. The seabuckthorn plant's berries
are rich in vitamins and nutrients. The plant's oil, mixed with Vitamin E,
aloe vera and some beneficial yeasts, allows Face Doctor products to
combat acne, eczema, psoriasis and, more commonly, rosacea.
Rosacea is caused by an infestation of icroscopic parasites in the human
body, known as the demodex folliculorum and demodex brevis. The folliculorum parasite attacks hair cells and brevis attacks the skin.
Ninety-six per cent of all humans are born with these parasites, but until
they are inflamed and irritated, there is no reaction.
The Face Doctor products are applied to the infected area and dissolve the
parasite within a few uses. Skin is left feeling firm and noticeably
radiant.
"It looks a lot better . . . I have a glow to my skin," said Cooke.
Face Doctor is now being sold at all Pharmasave drug stores, and is
getting positive reviews from local pharmacists. Roseanne Currie, a
pharmacist at Pellow Pharmacy for 15 years, said she's pleased to sell a
product that actually shows staggering results.
"Up until (this) point, there weren't many options for people with
rosacea," Currie said. "More and more people are hearing about it and are
coming in looking for it."
Currie said she has pointed out Face Doctor products to customers before,
and has no problem spreading the word about them.
"I feel very comfortable recommending the products," she said.
News of Face Doctor products is also spreading in other parts of the
province. Derek Lepage, Face Doctor spokesperson in Sault Ste. Marie,
raves about the products and their success. Lepage, 38, has been using the
soap on his face for the past two years, and has been relieved of redness,
skin bumps and painful boils that 15 surgeries couldn't keep away. "For two years, this soap's been the only thing I'm using," explained
Lepage. "It keeps my skin clean, nice and tight."
Lepage also noted that Face Doctor products can be used by people without
rosacea who want cleaner, healthier looking skin. The products can be used
externally on the entire body.
For those living with painful and embarrassing skin conditions like
rosacea, Face Doctor products might be the key to a cure. Aside from
product availability at several pharmacies, information can be obtained
online at www.facedoctor.ca.
