A new method to save face

By Robyn Chambers

Cosmetic manager at Vedder Pharmasave Juli Johnston doesn't only sell The Face Doctor product, she's a firm believer in its benefits.

Johnston says the store has carried the product for the last two years; she was turned on to it not long after and says she's experienced dramatic results.

"It's really rejuvenated my skin. It's younger looking."

Although it's marketed as a treatment for facial rashes such as rosacea, a chronic, relapsing and potentially life-disruptive disorder of the facial skin, Johnston says it also works wonders to improve more common breakouts and for the betterment of skin's general condition.

"At 24 my skin started to react differently to the environment. I wasn't happy. It didn't glow anymore and this changed all of that.

"This is the best thing I've ever used. People think that I am way younger that I actually am. I know it's this product."

An active ingredient in The Face Doctor is seabuckthorn oil. It's activity is targeted against the mite to reduce the inflammation under the skin and provide relief of the mechanisms that cause the rosacea complex of symptoms.

Seabuckthorn oil has been recognized for centuries in Eurasia for its revitalizing and restorative action and can be used for acne, dermatitis, irritated, dry, itching skin, sore skin, eczema, skin ulcers, postpartum pigmentation, burns, scalds, cuts, and tissue regeneration.

Rosacea is more frequently diagnosed in women, but more severe symptoms tend to be seen in men.

Facial burning, stinging and itching are commonly reported by many rosacea patients. Certain sufferers may also experience some swelling in the face that may become noticeable as early as the initial stage of the disease.
